Lars Ul Metallicana is the prince of Metallicana, the son of the King of Metallicana, and the older brother of Sheila Metallicana.

Appearance[]

Lars is a tall man with long spikey black hair. His height is 186 cm, and his weight is 66 kg,it is certainly identical to his sister Sheila.

Personality[]

Lars is brave and fearless. He stood up to the forces of heaven with the Sorcerer Shoguns, despite knowing that the outcome of the battle would be his demise. He's very brash and blunt with Dark Schneider due to their bitter rivalry, but they mutually respect each other despite their prior battle, which occurred 15 years prior to the start of the series and 17 years prior to the angel attack and fall of the city of King Crimson Glory.

History[]

Fifteen years before the start of the series, he fought Dark Schneider in a battle that lasted for several days. Dark Schneider had already succeeded in conquering most of the Earth at that time and would've only needed to conquer a few more kingdoms to rule the entire world. Lars found himself losing the battle and didn't see any chance of victory. Having no other choice, he summoned the "Dragon Knight", a mechanical robot that towers over 500 meters which was originally made by the Ten Wise Men of Europa. It was one of several they had created, specifically a prototype called Proto I, which Lars fused with. The Dragon Knight, which absorbs and multiplies the spiritual energy of anyone who uses it, proved useful and helped Lars to kill Dark Schneider. However, the Dragon Knight itself was meant to be used by Dark Schneider against Anthrasax, not by another against Dark Schneider, who was intended to be the ultimate wielder of the armor. As such, taking out Dark Schneider with the Dragon Knight subjected Lars to an extradimensional curse which separated his soul from his body and trapped it in another form, transforming Lars into a light-blue baby dragon. After the death of Dark Schneider, Lars was said to have gone missing, or even died, as no one knew what truly occurred on that day.

While trapped in the form of a baby dragon, Lars spent his time looking for a successor to the Dragon Knight. He was eventually found by Ninja Master Gara of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Dark Rebel Army and made to be his pet. He even follows Dark Schneider around after he defeated Gara to observe him, despite them both knowing full well that they were once deadly enemies, and Dark Schneider seems to be the only one who can understand him in that form. Right before the angels' attack on Earth, the Dragon Knight was destroyed by Anthrasax just before Dark Schneider could merge with it, causing it to spit out Lars's original physical form, thus freeing Lars from its curse and restoring his humanity. He then tells Geo and the others that the Dragon Knight isn't holy as they once thought and that it was the reason behind his cursed form.

During the "Battle for the Ark" in the city of King Crimson, Lars used the power of the dragon warrior to fight against the army of genocidal angels attacking humanity. He is the last to stand his ground against them (as the Sorcerer Shoguns and Samurai were slain), though he is eventually killed by the higher ranked angels. However, Prince Lars is ultimately revived by the Adam of Light. This causes him to see that the Adam of Light is "the Messiah" and that Kall-Su is "the legendary prophet Elijah", and he later relates this to the king of the dwarves.

Abilities and Equipment[]

Prince Lars possesses the blood of dragons[1], giving him incredible strength and power, enough to rival Dark Schneider.

Trivia[]

  • His birthday is September 24th, which commemorates the Battle of Shiroyama.
  • Lars Ul's name comes from the drummer of the band Metallica, Lars Ulrich.
  • Curiously, Lars is the only core character in the first part of the story who's original human form has never appeared in any of the anime adaptations of the manga yet his reborn baby dragon form has appeared in all of them.
  • Daisuke Ishiwatari, the creator of the Guilty Gear franchise, is admittedly a fan of the Bastard!! manga. Due to this, the visual design of the games is greatly inspired by Bastard!!'s. Lars' outfit was the basis for the design of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights' uniforms, a major group to which Guilty Gear protagonists, Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske, belonged to.
