The Explosive Wizard is the first episode in the Bastard!! OVA anime series.
Summary[]
Several hundred years after the fall of human civilization, it was a lawless period. A time without order, a time of sorcery and demons.
Kall-Su's army defeats the Kingdom of Judas, a nation said to have the greatest military power. Abigail comments they didn't stood a chance against them, the Four Divine Kings, and now the first seal is theirs. Gara comments that there are four seals which imprison the God of Destruction, and they need the three other to resurrect the god. Once they do it, Kall-Su states they will build the Sorcerers Kingdom.
Elsewhere, Kevidubu attacks the Kingdom of Metallicana, using demi-humans and a Hydra, however as the main army is elsewhere protecting the king's expedition, the kingdom can't defend properly. Yoko changes clothes, when Lucien enters. She slaps him for not knocking, but seeing he is bringing her laundry and underwear, she slaps him again. Wondering why, Lucien decides its because he didn't wash the remaining of her underwear and goes to wash them too. As the hydra gets closer to the main castle, Yoko goes to look for Lucien, seeing what he is doing she yells at him, but seeing there is no reaction from him, she calms down and takes him to the cathedral.
Geo observes the battle, but knows the defense isn't strong enough. He receives news of Judas' fall and realizes the Divine Kings now have one of the seals for Anthrasax. With this news, they need to defend themselves at all costs, and to defeat the dark sorcerer Kevidubu, they have to use their ace.
Yoko and Lucien reach the cathedral's altar area. They see Princess Sheila Metallicana, who explains that the priests had created a ward of protection around the alter area and they will have to hold until the main army returns. However, the ministers don't believe they will be able to hold until the army returns. Yoko recalls that her father gave her a secret spell that can unleash an ancient wizard who is sealed into a person, but it must be used only in worse case scenarios. Geo joins them and tells Sheila that there is a way to save the kingdom and looks at his daughter Yoko, telling her she must break the seal. Everyone then asks Yoko to break the seal, but she refuses, stating its embarrassing. Geo explains that if she wishes to save Lucien, she needs to break the seal within him which requires the first kiss of a pure virgin. However, Yoko still refuses, wanting to preserve her purity. Elsewhere, Kall-Su receives news that Kevidubu is close to taking over the castle at Metallicana. Gara asks Kall-Su if he remembers how 15 years ago, they fought alongside Dark Schneider against those kingdoms. However, Kall-Su states that's history and Dark Schneider died back then.
Bon Jovina, captain of the knights of Metallicana, attacks Kevidubu, but ends up easily defeated. Kevidubu then starts attacking the cathedral. Wanting to save Lucien, Yoko decides to break the seal, calling out the spell, she kisses Lucien. It takes couple of moments, but Lucien starts to shine, emitting evil aura and transforming into adult man with long white hair, and stating he is finally reborn. He tells Yoko that he is Dark Schneider, but also Lucien she knows. The ministers try ordering Dark Schneider to defeat the enemy outside, but he refuses stating he is going to rule the world. He then looks at Geo, and states he was one of the five men who defeated him 15 years ago and the cleric who imprisoned him, and killing Geo is his first step into conquering the world. Dark Schneider then casts a powerful spell, but Geo uses a spell on his own to protect himself. Impressed by his magical defense, Dark Schneider prepares a new spell, which even Kall-Su and Gara feel, however, the Hydra breaks the wall before Dark Schneider is able to finish the spell and stops him.
Kevidubu comes in, introducing himself as the disciple of the great Kall-Su, who will soon rule the world. A rock had hit Dark Schneider's face and caused a small injury. Angry, Dark Schneider starts insulting Kevidubu, telling him to come so that he can kill him. Kevidubu sends out the Hydra to kill Dark Schneider, however, Dark Schneider with ease kills the Hydra. Dark Schneider then tells him that Kevidubu pissed him off by first interrupting him before he could kill Geo, second for cutting his face and third for threatening Yoko. Dark Schneider then starts preparing a spell. Kevidubu recognizes the spell and asks Dark Schneider to stop, however, Dark Schneider proceeds and uses his Venom spell to kill Kevidubu. Dark Schneider then kills the demi-humans and turns towards Geo. Yoko runs to him and hugs him, asking him to stop as Lucien she knows won't do it and wishes the old Lucien to return back. Dark Schneider explains that he is Lucien and they share the same soul. While they may have different appearances and personalities, if Lucien dies, so would Dark Schneider, and who Lucien loves, he also loves. Dark Schneider then kisses Yoko and ends up reactivating the seal and becoming Lucien again.
Gara approaches Metallicana, commenting that the only spell that can release such dark power is Venom, but Venom is lost with the death of Dark Schneider. Gara then realizes that Dark Schneider may have come back to life.
