Abigail is one of the main characters of the Bastard!! manga. Leader of the Four Divine Kings, he plots to obtain the Four Seals in order to revive the God of Destruction Anthrasax.
Appearance[]
Abigail is a heavily built man with a long, narrow face, and dark hair, who is middle-age in appearance.
Personality[]
Abigail has shown two distinct personalities throughout the series. The first was how he acted while under the control of Anthrasax; a sadistic megalomaniac. After being freed from Anthrasax's control, Abigail became very calm and stoic, but still somewhat over-the-top in his actions.
History[]
Abigail was a scientist at the end of the Old World, and one of the Ten Wise Men of Europa. His exact discipline was never revealed, but as one of the Ten it is suggested he was working on the study of the spirit and spiritual matter such as Eternal Atoms. Their creations, the Spirit Energy Reactor, the Dark God of Destruction Anthrasax, the Dragon Knight armor, and Dark Schneider, led to the destruction of the Old World in the year 2008 AD.
After the destruction of the Old World, he and his fellow Wise Men became Dark Elves to prolong their lifespans.
Around 200 years before the start of the series, Abigail left the Ten, became a human cleric, and traveled the world as the Dark Prophet of the Underworld, specializing in Earth, Undeath, and Dark Magic.
He later joined Dark Schneider's Four Divine Kings and, with the other members, sought world domination. After Dark Schneider was seemingly killed 15 years before the start of the series, they hatched a new plan to take over the world by seizing the four seals holding Anthrasax.
Shortly after Chapter 0, Abigail besieged the Kingdom of Judas and broke the seal of Anthrasax in Judas Castle. This caused him to become totally possessed by Anthrasax's spirit, forcing him to tell his allies whatever lies he had to in order to convince them to break the other seals and free Anthrasax. He promised his fellow Kings and their Dark Rebel Army that he had the means by which to control Anthrasax and use its power to remake the world into a Sorcerers' Utopia that they would rule. In this possessed state, he used the Blue Nail of The Accused on Nei, destroyed the kingdom of Iron Maiden with an army of zombies, unleashed Eddie the Lich armed with the Satan Ring, and sent monsters armed with the three ancient Legendary Demonic Artifacts against Metallicana before wielding them against the kingdom himself.
When Dark Schneider destroyed Abigail's body shortly before the two-year timeskip, it destroyed the essence of Anthrasax within him, leaving his liberated soul free to rebuild his body. He hid himself in a technologically advanced exo-suit while his body was healing and allied himself with Yoko's group as the Samurai Angus Yarn. He stayed silent for two years so that no one would recognize his voice, until he finally revealed himself during Dark Schneider's battle with Kall-Su at the floating elven city of King Crimson Glory. Yoko and the others were shocked that they never figured this out, considering Angus Yarn's face looked just like Abigail's.
After revealing himself, Abigail used the Magical Great Metal Hammer to restore the tiny Dark Schneider to his original size. Later, when Lucien Renlen revealed himself to be the fallen archangel Lucifer, he convinced Abigail to remove the four limiters on the Spirit Energy Reactor in the elven city of King Crimson Glory and set it to critically overload in order to produce enough energy to restore Dark Schneider to life.
Following the four year time skip, Abigail is briefly seen inspecting the seal on the moon before teleporting away.[1]
Abilities and Equipment[]
Abigail is a powerful sorcerer, able to perform many black magic spells. His power is further enhanced by fusing with a part of Anthrasax.[2] Due to his background as one of the Ten Wise Men of Europa Abigail posses an incredible mastery of machines. Even being able to develop pilotable robot suits.
Spells[]
- Accused: When a sorcerer decides to use the Blue Nail of the Accused on someone, their fingernail turns blue. From that point on, the victim must loyally follow the orders given by the spellcaster forever or the nail will turn purple, then red, then the victim will be transformed into a toad.
- Asp: Spell that banishes demons.[3]
- Extreme: Powerful barrier spell.[3]
- Forbidden: A spell that summons a horde of death spirits to attack a target.[4]
- Heretic: vine tentacles appear from the earth and tightly grab anyone near them.[5]
- Regent: Slow fall spell
- Tool: a powerful magic beam.[5]
Tentacle Breastplate[]
- Abigail's tentacle cloak is made up of living creatures animated by magic. They're able to act as lightning rods[6], secure Abigail in place when trapped in a magical tornado[7], and immobilize opponents by wrapping around them.[5]
Abigail Over Armor[8][]
- A large mechanical disguise suit with great strength and ability. Wears 80kg armor, and can easily wield a 20kg spear.
Weapons[]
- Magic Hammer: A giant hammer Abigail that can restore Dark Schneider's size and powers.[9]
Techniques:[]
- Abigail Crystal Power Makeup: An ability that lets him regenerate his body and clothes.
- Abigail Home Run: Using a giant metal bat Abigail hits people off into the distance.
Composite Demon King Omega Abigail The First[]
By combining with the Three Demonic Treasures, Abigail is able to turn himself into a giant fused construct known as Combined Demon King Omega Abigail The First with incredible destructive power and resistances.[10]
In this form he possess all the abilities of the Demonic Treasures such as manipulating the Earth's power veins, repelling magic, and absorbing magical power. Since it was made using Old World science and magic one cannot sense any magical power or energy from it.[11]
Strengths[]
- Anti Magic Talismans: Like the Demon-Mail armor, Omega Abigail is resistance to nearly all forms of weapons and magic. Additionally, the Omega Abigail armor is covered in Anti Magic Talismans able to withstand the power of Dark Schneider and Arshes Nei's combined Helloween Spells.[12]
- Abigail Buster: A powerful beam attack from Omega Abigail's arm.[13]
- Abigail Beam: A more powerful beam attack from Omega Abigail's mouth.[13]
- Abigail Collider: Omega Abigail's most powerful beam attack, launched from its chest. Powerful enough to destroy Dark Schneider's Golem in one strike.[14]
Weaknesses[]
- Energy collecting membrane: Despite being invulnerable across the rest of its body, the Ultra Omega Abigail construct's magical protections don't extend to the energy collecting membrane in its chest cavity that are exposed when firing the Abigail Collider. Dark Schneider's Exodus spell was able to destroy the Ultra Omega Abigail construct by targeting this point.[15]
